About The role: We are currently seeking a dedicated, motivated, and compassionate Vocational Support Worker with yard maintenance experience or skills to join our fantastic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in assisting individuals with diverse abilities to acquire, maintain, and enhance their vocational skills. Your primary focus will be providing guided support, mentoring, and training to employees, ensuring they can fully participate in our social enterprises and/or open employment. Key Responsibilities: - To provide support and supervision to employees and be responsible for the daily operations which will include yard maintenance, commercial cleaning and recycling operations.
- Maintain productivity and ensuring high quality level of work.
- Maintain a healthy and safe working environment, including good housekeeping and safe work methods.
- Ensure maintenance is carried out on equipment in a timely manner.
- To provide written and verbal reports to the Supervisor.
- Assist with employee development, planning, skills assessment and progression.
- To maintain the confidentiality of employees’ personal, medical and financial matters.
- Assist employees to achieve, improve and/or maintain vocational skills and achieve realistic goals.
- Encourage employees to become independent in a vocational environment.
- Attend meetings with Supervisor, employees and other staff as required.
About You: - Confident in engaging with clients effectively, building positive relationships, and supporting their unique needs.
- Resilient and self-assured, able to work with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Skilled in prioritizing tasks and demonstrating problem-solving abilities.
- Holder of a valid Australian Driver's License, Working With Children Check, and NSW NDIS Workers Screening Check.
- Able to pass a National Criminal History Check.
- Full COVID Vaccination status
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent (desirable)
- Experience with Lawn maintenance equipment (desirable)
