Disability Support Worker - Accommodation Services- Tamworth
50 - 60 hour Contracts Available

As we expand our services, we are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Team Leader to join our dedicated team.

 

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Disability Support Worker who has experience and or training in using aids to assist our clients and a high level of understanding around Manual Handling, this role offers daily challenges and opportunities to truly impact the lives of people living with disabilities.

 

 

The Role:

 

We’re looking for a Disability Support Worker for our Accommodation Services to provide vital assistance to our high-needs clients, aiding with personal care and daily tasks. From wheelchair users to those with additional medical needs, you'll ensure they receive the support they require. With a focus on promoting autonomy, our team supports residents around the clock, fostering independence within a shared living environment. Your role will involve handling complex situations with empathy and composure, making a meaningful impact on the lives of others. This role is ideal for someone who is looking to work 50 - 60hrs a fortnight.

 

 

About you:

 

You're confident and can engage with clients effectively, building positive relationships and actively supporting their unique needs. Resilience and self-confidence are key as you'll work with clients from diverse backgrounds. You'll need to prioritize tasks and demonstrate problem-solving skills to tackle challenges head-on. Flexibility is essential, with availability for shift work, sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook, is a plus. A valid Australian Driver's License is required, along with a Working With Children Check and NSW NDIS Workers screening Check. You must also pass a National Criminal History Check and have updated Covid-19 vaccination status, including boosters. Be prepared for a pre-employment assessment as part of the hiring process. Desirable Criteria

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent.
  • Experience with high needs Disability clients
  • Demonstrated understanding in the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) processes.
  • Mental Health First Aid
