About the Role:

Challenge Community Services is seeking a dedicated Coordinator of Supports to join our team. This vital role supports clients with permanent and significant disabilities and their families to build capacity, exercise choice and control, and achieve their NDIS goals.

 

You'll play an integral part in connecting clients to services, fostering community networks, and enabling their independence.

  • Work with clients and families to build capacity and achieve goals through NDIS-funded supports.
  • Coordinate and manage support services, including life skills development, employment assistance, and early intervention.
  • Build awareness in the community to improve opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in activities.
  • Monitor service budgets and ensure compliance with funding and legislative guidelines.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, and community networks to deliver person-centered outcomes.
  • Adhere to relevant disability legislation, standards, and WHS practices.

About You:

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications or experience in Disability, Social Work, Education, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience working with adults and/or children with disabilities and their families/carers.
  • Strong understanding of person-centered and strengths-based practices.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Capacity to monitor services within budgetary requirements.
  • Knowledge of National Disability Service Standards, Disability Inclusion Act, and NDIS legislation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A commitment to working with diverse cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Desirable:

  • Experience in service provision for people with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of disability legislation and standards.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) processes.
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
  • Current NSW Working with Children’s Check 
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check 
  • Current Police Check 
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • COVID-19 vaccination certificate.
