About the Role: To provide support and supervision to employees with a disability and be responsible for various daily operations such as: - Performing administration tasks with software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe
- Answering phone enquires and processing of payments
- Maintaining productivity and ensuring a high quality of work, while working with and along side our supported employees
- A strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload will be important in this role
- Maintain a healthy and safe working environment, including good housekeeping and safe work methods.
- Ensure stock levels for all administration materials and cleaning products are up to date and maintained in an orderly manner.
- To provide written and verbal reports to the Supervisor when needed or required.
- Assist with employee development, planning, skills assessment and progression.
- To maintain the confidentiality of employees’ personal, medical and financial matters.
- Assist employees to achieve, improve and/or maintain vocational skills and achieve realistic goals.
- Encourage employees to become independent in a vocational environment.
- Provide supervision and work with and alongside our cleaning crews
- Attend meetings with Supervisor, employees and other staff as required.
This role will be split between administration and cleaning responsibilities and other duties as required. About You:We are currently seeking a dedicated, motivated and compassionate Vocational Support Worker with good administrative skills and cleaning experience or skills with a can-do attitude to join our team. As a Support Worker in a vocational environment, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals with diverse abilities in acquiring, maintaining, and enhancing their vocational skills. Your primary focus will be on providing guided support, mentoring and training to employees to ensure they can participate fully in our social enterprises and/or open employment. In this role, you will provide supervision to our supported employees, who you will be working with and alongside in both an office environment and in our growing professional cleaning business. Selection Criteria - Proficient in the use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe
- Previous experience in the Disability Sector or equivalent
- Practical and/or knowledge in commercial cleaning procedures
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Time management, organisational skills and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload
- Sound record keeping, business and report writing skills
- Ability to work alone or in a team without supervision
Essential Criteria - Australian Driver’s licence
- NSW Working with Children’s Check (or eligibility to obtain one)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or eligibility to obtain one)
- Current Police Check (or eligibility to obtain one)
- Current First Aid Certificate
Desirable Criteria - Demonstrated experience in disability, mental health or related field.
- Certificate III/IV in Disability
- Previous Commercial cleaning experience
