As a Vocational Support Worker, you will support employees with disabilities in a range of work settings, including commercial cleaning, yard maintenance, recycling operations, secure scanning, and work crew services. You will play a hands-on role in daily operations while supporting employees to build skills, confidence, and independence in the workplace. Duties: Provide day-to-day support and supervision to supported employees Oversee daily operations across: Commercial cleaning Secure scanning Recycling operations Work crew services
Maintain productivity and high-quality work standards Promote a safe and healthy work environment, including safe work practices and good housekeeping Ensure equipment is maintained and used correctly Assist employees to develop, improve, and maintain vocational skills Encourage independence and goal achievement in a vocational setting Complete written and verbal reports, including CIMS notes and incident reports Maintain confidentiality of employees’ personal, medical, and financial information Attend meetings with supervisors, employees, and other staff as required Carry out other duties as directed
Skills and Experience: Essential: Previous experience in the disability sector or a related field Practical experience or knowledge of commercial cleaning procedures Practical experience or knowledge of Work crew operations and yard maintenance Strong written and verbal communication skills Good time management, organisational, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Basic to intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Desirable: Experience supporting people with disabilities in a vocational or supported employment setting Experience supervising staff or work crews Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices
